Royal Rajasthan Ride and Little RoK for Bonus

It was Monday a morning of October 3rd week. I was just back from a week long vacation from my home. I was looking into leave management system of our company and realized that 17.5 annual leaves are still available for me. And only 15 of them will be carry forwarded and 2.5 leaves will be lapsed if I don't utilize them. I already wasted two Regional Holiday(RH), so I was in no mood to waste any more.

Then I decided I will take leave during last week of the year as our client(many US client) shut down their operations. Now the problem comes where to go??

Though i was dicey to the last day whether as I should go home or for the trip. At last the heart won over the mind and it was me and Ganesh who agreed to do the trip.

I was pulling night shift those days and 22nd Dec was my last working day. Ganesh took off on 23rd Dec and we started our journey the Royal Rajasthan Ride.

Weekend Getaway to Lansdowne, Uttarakhand

Date Of Journey : 07 August 2010
Duration : 2 Days
Total Distance Covered : 600KM (approx.)
Route : Delhi - Meerut - Bijnor - Najimabad - Kotdwar - Dugadda - Lansdowne

Lansdowne is a cantonment town in Pauri Garhwal district in the Indian state of Uttarakhand. I visited there on 07 August 2010. Though its a old trip, still i want to share with you

I was new to touring at that time. Me and my friend as pillion left Delhi early in the morning. Near Meerut we faced our first puncture of the trip. However we got a puncture repair shop near and get it fixed.
Somewhere after Meerut. Lovely morning.
Soon we reached Madhya Ganga Barrage. After couple of photoshoot we moved ahead towards Bijnor.

After Najimabad the road becomes smooth and the view becomes more green.
Smooth tarmac towards Kotdwar
In no time we reached Kotdwar. Kotdwar is having a railway terminus. We visited Shri Sidhbali Dham on the outskirts of Kotdwar. There is a river flowing beside the temple and one can take bath there.

After some rest at the temple we again started our journey towards Dugadda. Monsoon and greenery, both were on its peak.
About to reach Dugadda

Mist everywhere

and Greenery too!
We reached Lansdowne and had our lunch. This was my first bike trip to hills and I was tired. After lunch, we crashed to the beds in our hotel room. After some rest we decided to visit Tadkeswar Mahadev which is around 35-40KM from Lansdowne.

We were spellbound by the beauty of this place. The place is serene and calm. We spent some good time there and returned back towards Lansdowne.
May your journey be blessed!!!

In the evening we did a local sight seeing. Bhulatal is one of them. Its a small lake where you can do boating.

After Bhulatal we gave a visit to Tip-in-Top.

On Day 2, we decided to explore more before leaving for Delhi. We came to know about Bhairav Garhi Temple near Gumkhal. One have to trek for one and half hour to reach at the temple but the view from there is mesmerizing.
